A full day out viewing the majestic island of Kefalonia.
We begin our day in the south of the island and meander our way up the west coast from Argostoli town.
Argostoli has been the capital of the Kefallonia Region since 1757. It is the island’s commercial and administrative centre, and has beautiful neo-classical buildings. It’s a modern city with a remarkable historic and cultural tradition. Argostoli, built amphitheatrically with a view to the Lagoon of Koutavos, overlooks the fir tree-covered Aenos.
Along the way we view fish farms and see the splendid view down to Myrtos bay.
The most beautiful beach on the island and one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, with snow white sand, a paradise on earth is protected by high rocks while the sea offers sublime combinations with colours ranging from blue green to deep blue.
We drive through the isthmus and join the north east coast road to Fiscardo.
Once there, we have free time to enjoy the beautiful village and harbor. Fiskardo lies 54 Km northeast of Argostoli. It is a beautiful and cosmopolitan town with Venetian houses to be situated around a beautiful harbour. Part of Fiskardo charm is being the only town in Kefalonia not to have been devastated by the earthquake in 1953. It is a major sailing port
After that we head down to Agia Efimia for lunch time. The picturesque village of Agia Efimia. It’s a quiet town sporting wide streets and good urban-planning, with a port where numerous yachts from all over the world flock in the summertime
There is an afternoon of viewing the Drogorati cave. Nature’s splendor is evident in every centimeter of this unique sculpure of earth and rock. The visitor will be impressed at the very moment that he steps into this laboratory of nature, where stalactites and stalagmites have been taking shape and form for thousands of years.
and Melissani Lake Short tour by rowing boat Melissani lake is a wonderful underground lake with sublime stalactites, where some kind of worship of God Pan took place in historical times. When illuminated by the sun’s rays, sublime colors are reflected on the lake water.
and then a gentle drive through the Ainos mountain range back to our resorts
