Named after the whiteness of its chalk rocks and cliffs in the south of the island, around the picturesque Cape Lefkada. The island is also known for the endless white pebbled beaches some of which are famous worldwide. Legend says that the island’s south part was the hiding place of the pirates, since approaching the coast it’s almost impossible to imagine that there is a gulf out there in the Sivota bay, today probably the most popular destination in Lefkada for yacht owners.
